Federal Republic of Nigeria - Located in West Africa! Population 150 million. Became a democratic Government - May 1999

* Population - 150 million making it the most populated African Country. Capital city is Abuja, located in North Central  Nigeria. There are 36 states , government is split into three branches - Legislative,Judiciary and  Executive.                                                    

* Has three main Languages - Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo. These three languages are split into 250 dialects. (Official Language - English) Also has an interesting version of the english "pigeon english"  Religion - Christain 51% , Muslin - 49% , Indigenous Beliefs - 10%

* Some Famous Nigerians: Chinua Achebe (Author Things Fall Apart) , Wole Soyinka (Nobel Laureaute - Literature) , Shade(Artist) , Miss World  2001 - Agbani Darego.

 * The average Nigerian is a sport fan. The most popular sport being Football a.k.a Soceer - we won the Olympic Gold Medal in Atlanta - 1996.
 
* Some major Nigeria cities Abuja . Lagos (likened to NYC), and Port Harcourt
 
* Has the third largest movie industry in the world - Nollywood. Nigeria has a variety of artist ranging from Afrobeat to rap and hip hop.
 
*Although there is western influence in our way of Life, most Nigerians still strive to maintain traditions - in the way we dress, our language, food e.t.c
